Canine Coffee Concerns

I have a concern.

I think my mom drinks too much coffee. I collected all the coffee in our Swiss willage home.

I think this is a lot of espresso.

My mom says it's not so much. Not near enough. She says that she does not drink nor smoke, so she's allowed at least one vice.

All these excuses don't allay, nor address, my concern. I think Mom drinks too much coffee.

What do you think?

Love,
Tootsie

  1. Nah! At least it's just coffee. Nothing better than a good espresso! Nice of you to worry about your Momma though! :)

    1. That's exactly what my mom says, and it doesn't allay my concern. Do I need to worry about you too, Bassetmomma?

  2. I think as long as she isn't too busy drinking coffee to pet you, then it's all good!

    1. She pets me while she drinks her coffee, but that doesn't allay my concern.

  3. I don't know. Maybe you are trying to make her look bad. You could have been saving the empty containers and then stacked them up to make it look like she drinks way too much. Ha, ha.

    1. Since you live in Seattle, arguably the coffee capital of the world, and you have reviewed some fabulous barking coffee shops, I'm not sure about your take here!

    2. True. What seems like a lot to you looks like Monday to me (or at least my Fiance). Ha, ha.

    3. I'm going to send a dog-gram to Chester and Gretel to share my concern with them :)

  4. Don't forget that you are not the largest of dogs, so proportionally speaking it may look like a lot compared to you, but just think of how little an amount it would look like next to a Great Dane!

    1. I can visualize one of your beautiful art works with just this scenario! Great Dane and little espresso cup and miniature dachshund with enormous American coffee mug!

    Tootsie,
I don't think that she drinks to much coffee, It makes her feel good, she gets her water that she needs, she can stay awake longer, it destress's her, it is good for headaches, it is good for sinusitis, and it tastes good. I don't like coffee but I drink my 2 RC Cola's a day for a lot of the same reasons. Everyone needs at least l good vice or we wouldn't be human. Sadie says don't worry.

    1. I have to think about this, especially since Sadie says not to worry. My mom is really excited about your reasons here, and she's been repeating them to me. "See?" she says. "See?"

  6. dear Tootsie,

My Typist always has at least 5 extra large, extra dark roast bottles of coffee hidden away in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. she thinks no one knows about her addiction, but i do. at least she's gone from 6 cups a day [extra strong, no sugar, no milk] to just 2. there is hope! maybe your human will find the light soon.

    1. Dear Georgia,

My mom says that your Typist is a kindred coffee spirit. Mom had whittled down to one large latte macchiato per day, but now she is back up to five per day. Hence, my concern. I hope she sees the light like your Typist. Your Typist is very wise. (And I won't tell anyone about your Typist's hidden coffee.)

  7. Well our mom has quite a bit of coffee too, she can polish of nearly a pot. She also likes her wine as well. As long as mom can still cuddle you and walk you the coffee habit is fine. Our mom says, but then she is a coffee user, that a lot of the human doctors say coffee can be good for you

    1. Are those human doctors coffee drinkers? In that case, they don't allay my concern.

  8. Hi Y'all,

Just hopped by to meet y'all, catch up on your happenings and say hello!

My Humans LOVE coffee! They are trying to cut back but my Human said she read that caffeine helps prevent Alzheimers.

    Y'all come by now,

    1. Hi, Hawk!

Thanks for stopping by. I think that particular piece of medical news may have been originated by coffee-loving doctors. I appreciate your spirit, but I remain concerned about Mom's coffee intake.

  9. I think she drinks too uch coffee! I drank coffee one time, and my owners got all mad at me(it wasn`t my fault they left it unattended on the computer desk!) My owners said coffee was bad for dogs, in the same way chocolate is. Why do that get to drink it then! It`s not fair!
