and are only allowed in the restaurant area
We found this sign in the township of Collina d'Oro ("Golden Hill"), an insanely wealthy suburb of Lugano and quite a doggy place. Dogs are ONLY allowed in the restaurant area. That's because this is a public rec center, and they worry that patrons will take their dogs on the tennis courts.
As stated in the sign below, you must wear a shirt and tennis shoes on the courts. Because there is a public swimming pool on the other side of the tennis courts, the sign also mentions that you may not play in your swimsuit.
Dear Readers and Kindred Spirits, if I wear a shirt and find two pairs of dachshund-sized tennis shoes, will they let me play tennis on a leash? I think it should be OK, as long as I don't wear a swimsuit.
That sounds reasonable to me! You'd be following the rules, so it would be discrimination to keep you out. Down with speciesism!
ReplyDeleteYou'd have to find a dachshund sized racket too!
ReplyDeleteProbably would help if you found a nice pair of shorts too...
ReplyDeleteA sweet pair of lycra shorts will do it!
ReplyDeleteI think it'd be great!
ReplyDeleteDachshund Nola
If they let ya (and I think they should), I've got about 87 billion tennies balls I could let ya have.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Wouldn't that be FUN? Just imagine all those tennis balls! :D
ReplyDeleteHow funny. It's the opposite here, we might be allowed around the tennis courts but no way would we be allowed near the restaurant area! BOL!
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella &Roxy
Oh gosh you would look cute! Isn't it interesting how different countries let poochies do some things but other places a firm no? In Paris they can eat inside a restaurant (at least they use to) and here in California only outside on a patio at some restaurants.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny seeing as how dogs usually aren't allowed in restaurants. I would take advantage of it Tootsie and hunt for scraps. If its a posh area, you might even score a fat scotch fillet. Yum.
ReplyDeleteI can be HOOVER TOOTSIE! Great idea, Ms. Georgia! :) Yummy.
DeleteWoof! Woof! Oh I love when restaurants welcome dogs. Happy Saturday BLOG Hop Weekend. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteHey, it's Jet here. Why not? If you are anything like my bff, mini-doxie, Miss Dixie, you will retrieve tennis balls with accuracy and precision. In South Florida, our K9s can sometimes enjoy outside cafe dining...
ReplyDeleteTennis does sound fun. At our local park we often pass a bulldog tied up at hte tennis court while the owners play I think its because our parks tennis court is not to fancy

That would certainly be following the rules! I hope you have fun. Those are great signs. Most businesses here won't allow dogs inside, but that's slowly changing in some places.
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteI see no problem as long as you are properly attired. ;)
Just hopped by to catch up on your happenings and say hello! Have a great weekend!
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
I think that would be fine. You just need your Daschund sized tennis balls and rackets.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather hang out at the restaurant! Gimme Gimme!
ReplyDeleteHey as long as your dressed properly, right? LOL! I'd stay where the food is!
ReplyDeleteAt least you know what the signs say, we would be in alot of trouble!!
ReplyDeleteThat is cool that dogs are allowed in the restaurant. Definitely a rarity by US standards.
