Doggy Retirement Planning

The other day, Lady Vicki suggested the addition of fridge magnets to the array of doggy products available from Tootsie's Shoppe. There was never any doubt I should follow her advice, but I had to think long and hard about the implementation.

I finally saw the light during one of my many naps. I'm a savvy sausage, right? So why not start a Savvy Sausage Wisdom fridge magnet series to share my sound advice? I mean, my dach-sound advice?

Now, what pearl of doggy wisdom do I start with? Retirement planning, of course, because we're not getting any younger. In this day and age of financial uncertainty, we all need to plan for our golden doggy years.

If you're worried about too much exposure to stock market fluctuations, as you should be, keep in mind you can always hedge your 401(k9) with a Dow Jones inverse ETF that gains x% when the market drops x%. My favorite example is the ProShares Short Dow30, whose ticker is DOG. (It really exists, look here!)

Speaking of doggy wisdom, please check out Lady Vicki's blog! Its title is "Think before you say yes"; now, that's a piece of advice everyone should follow!

Fur disclosure: this is a dog blog; my yips are not meant to be construed as professional financial advice.

Fur disclosure #2: I'm not being compensated by ProShares in any way for mentioning their DOG product. They won't even enter my Burrower's Choice giveaway.

  1. Hello Tootsie, thank you very much for linking to my post, and I am so glad you liked the fridge magnet idea. And your idea for savvy sausage wisdom is just right, love your thinking photo. Mum needs some wisdom on retirement so that would be perfect. WE will keep returning to the shoppe to see them there.

    Keep up the good work,
    Lady Vicki xxooxx

  3. Oh Tootsie, I wish you would give Gail some retirement planning advice. I can't believe that she would rather go out to work than stay home with me. We would order some fridge magnets were our fridge not a built in one hidden behind a wooden door...

  5. It is time for the fiscally frugal
To take up the conservative bugle
    Who, better than ever
    For the fiscally clever
To explain how to stretch one's fruit strudel?
