Mount Boglia

One of our favorite hikes in the Lugano area is the one from the town of Brè to the top of Mount Boglia. Here I am, near treeline, waddling my way up the recently renovated trail.

And here's a butt-shot of Mom. The huge mountain in the distance is Monte Rosa, Switzerland's highest peak.

Here we are at the edge of the large summit meadow. "Look, Tootsie! We're almost at the tippy top!" says Mom.

"I knew you could do it," I told Mom once we made it to the summit ridge.

Here I am at the very top. The body of water behind me is the East arm of Lake Lugano.

Mom must have been really hungry because she started nibbling my ear.

And here's what Mount Boglia looks like from the top of Mount Sassalto, near Casa Burrow. Well... there are several mountains in this photo; can you guess which one Mount Boglia is, based on the other photos?

  2. Very impressive that you made it all the way to the top Tootsie! Such a beautiful place to hike. We kept singing Climb Every Mountain from the Sound of Music while enjoying all your pictures.

  6. Oh Tootsie, another great walk, and another fantastic summit photo of you and Mom. Do you know, Gail refused to take me up a hill at the weekend, 'cos she said it was too windy. I mean it was only about 25 mph in the city, surely it can't have been much worse up at 1000m? (Gail says oh yes it could….) Conditions look lovely and still on Mount Boglia. I note that Mom is not wearing a windproof jacket, and there does not appear to be much ear flapping going on.
    Toodle pip!

Bertie, you are once observant l'il dog! But is that lack of visible ear flapping good or bad? Bruno loves loves loves to flap his ears with great enthusiasm and vigor!!!
