This past weekend, we hiked in the Bernese Oberland! Mom was worried because it is super touristy, but it was tons of fun and totally wotten waven.
From Wilderswil, we rode a cogwheel train up to Schynige Platte.
Here's a train load of big wheels of Swiss cheese!
Then we hiked along a plateau.
And onward next to a very steep drop-off.
At one point, we could see the Eiger! -- but we don't have any pictures, because my parental units are dorks. So here is a big rock.
Here is a great view of the Bernese Oberland. The Eiger, the Monch, and the Jungfrau were each visible at certain points, but only briefly and never all three at once. They are off to the left of the photo below.
Mom helped me with some flight practice.
But she didn't let me go.
Love,
Tootsie
No surprise that I love alpine hikes
ReplyDeleteJust one more of my vast list of "likes".
When one must hang around
This close to the ground
It is height that's the real spice of life
Oh Tootsie! That looks wonderful!!

Oh wow, that does look like lots of fun! I bet you could've just flown from peak to peak, but it was nice of you to stick with your pawrents.
ReplyDeleteSo Gail is bouncing up and down with excitement saying "I've been there Bertie, I've walked on Schynige Platte".

You were ready to fly, though ! Beautiful pictures, it's a pity you had some fog ! Purrs
