The Feast of the Immaculate Conception

Tootsie--sometimes referred to as Baby Jesus--
celebrates December 8th,
the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
Today is a holiday in southern Switzerland.

Although it is a "Feast Day," Tootsie only ate regular kibble.
Little old ladies who forgot about the holiday are totally freaked out
because all grocery stores are closed.

And grocery stores are not open on Sundays in Switzerland!

  5. They must NOT have WalMarts in S.Land... THOSE are open 24/7... and don't even KNOW about folks wanting to celebrate ANY Holidays.

  6. In the dim dark days almost lost in time, stores did not open here on Sundays. We're pretty glad we get to spend more money on Sundays now.

I only heard of the Feast Day yesterday at a Catholic friend's wedding!
