From Gola di Lago, we followed the scenic trail to the town of Roveredo.
The trail is very well maintained...
and goes through many cute roadless hamlets.
The views comply with the very high Swiss quality standards.
Due South, you can see Lugano's Hausberg, Mount San Salvatore.
I took several naps, including one next to a wotten waven waterfall.
I felt very proud of myself as we entered the hamlet of Roveredo.
Just three weeks before this hike, I was recovering from naproxen intoxication.
As Phil Collins would say, take a look at me now!
Here's our route from Medeglia to Roveredo by way of Gola di Lago:

Hey Tootsie, Jet here.
ReplyDeleteYou rock! That's quite a hiking accomplishment, and... gorgeous scenery. JJ had major surgery on Friday and seems like she's almost forgotten!
Mom says we K9s are amazing and inspiring! Have a great week.
You look very comfy napping by that waterfall! I bet that was a soothing sound to fall asleep to.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great pictures! You get to take in so many beautiful sights on your hikes!
ReplyDeleteYou sure know how to nap. What a wonderful hike.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

what a fun hike! i love the napping pic lol
ReplyDeleteEven by your high standards, that's a great walk! Your nap photo is simultaneously soothing, inspiring, and hilarious. What a wonderful day for your pack to share! We send our best from the sunny shores of Lake Michigan. Bruno & co.
ReplyDeleteWell the Swiss landscapes photos were lovely as ever, but we are a bit confused 'cos we didn't see anything remotely resembling a peat bog. And I can say with confidence that peat bogs are an area of expertise in this household. In fact Gail has a Ph.D. in the subject. (Yes, seriously!)
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
According to [1], Gola di Lago is a peatland, so it may be the case that my parents failed to take the right photos in an effort to capture my doggy cuteness. They say they thought that the habitat portrayed in the first picture in this post (behind the signage and below the cliffs) was a peat bog...what do you think?

A bog is supposed to be wet! Ie suspect what you have is a dried out peat bog, that might look like a proper bog if it rained a lot (as it does in Scotland...)
DeleteOh and thank for the reference!
Cheers, Gail.
I see...thank you for the insight!
DeleteYou sure do look great, and as always lovely photos
